Religious Community Remembers Tulsa Pastor Carlton Pearson

The Tulsa religious community is remembering the Reverent Carlton Person, who died on Sunday.

Pearson had recently entered hospice care due to cancer.

He rose to fame in the late 70s and early 80s after founding the Higher Dimensions Church, which grew to a membership of more than 6,000.

He received national attention in the early 2000s when he was excommunicated for rejecting the traditional view of hell.

Higher Dimensions was ultimately absorbed into All Souls Unitarian.

Pearson was 70 years old.
